Abstract

E-government is an important tool that provides information and governmental services to citizens, businesses and employees. It also improve the efficiency, effectiveness and performance of public sector organizations. In this study, we analyzed the development and implementation of e-government in Saudi Arabia using Chan, Lau, and Pan's (2008) E-government Implementation Framework. Initiatives taken by Saudi government have been explained using four components, i. e. ICT infrastructure, information content, e-government info-structure and e-government promotion. The results of this study suggest that Saudi Arabia's leadership is fully committed in the developing and improving its e-government system in order to provide best possible services to citizens and residents.
